Police and federal agents searched an apartment building on Ocean Avenue in nearby Revere late Monday night in connection with the bombings.
Several bags were removed from the scene around 2 a.m. Tuesday, but authorities would not comment on the search.
The Revere Fire department wrote on its Facebook page that this was a search for “a person of interest.”
Deputy Chief, Engine 5, Ladder 1, Cataldo Paramedics & Chief were called in for Operational standby for State Police Bomb Techs for search of a “person of interest ” apartment at 364 Ocean Ave. FBI, ATF, ICE, Boston PD, Revere PD as well as MSP detectives and Bomb Techs from Boston PD and State.
Two men were questioned by federal agents in the lobby overnight before they were allowed to go upstairs.
Police pulled over a suspicious person driving past the state police barracks late last night. The driver reportedly had a nervous demeanor. The driver then led police and the FBI to a home in the area of Ocean Ave. and Beach St.
Sources confirmed to FOX25 that the apartment being searched in connection to the bombings is on the fifth floor of the building.
A source close to the investigation confirmed to FOX25 the man whose apartment was searched is considered a person of interest in the case, and is the same person of interest FOX25 confirmed earlier authorities are guarding at a local hospital.
Investigators say no one has claimed responsibility and there’s no word yet on a motive.
