Judge Napolitano: Obama Is the Champion at Trying to Get Around the Constitution

In his inaugural address yesterday, President Obama drew on the words of Abraham Lincoln, saying, “Through blood drawn by lash and blood drawn by sword, we learned that no union founded on the principles of liberty and equality could survive half-slave and half-free. We made ourselves anew, and vowed to move forward together.”

Steve Doocy discussed the reference and the overall speech on Fox and Friends with Judge Andrew Napolitano. Napolitano said a person’s opinion of Obama’s address probably depends on what side of the political aisle you’re on.

“If you believe in his vision of a federal government that can right any wrong and regulate any behavior and make everybody equal, then you celebrated the speech yesterday. But if you believe that the Constitution not only constitutes, not only creates the government, it restrains the government, then you didn’t like what you heard yesterday,” said Napolitano, adding that Obama is “the champion at trying to get around the Constitution.”
