A German dignitary was caught on camera giving what seemed like a Nazi salute to the Germany Olympic team during the 2012 Opening Ceremony.

Some may say he made the Olympic salute.

If so, why the shocked expressions and laughter from Boris Johnson and Camilla Parker-Bowles?

  1. He’s lifting his left arm so it’s not a nazi salute, as Hitler wanted to be hailed by the right sided arm. Check your sources before you blame someone: this is the Olympic salute!

    • Except the Olympic salute is also given with the right arm. So, this chap isn’t doing that either… at least not very well
