Gibson Guitars versus U.S Government :Last stand for the great American guitar?

In News, NWO on August 29, 2011 at 6:05 PM

Gibson Guitars have been under siege from the Federal Government from November 2009. Homeland Security at that time confiscated half a million dollars of material from Gibson as well as unfinished guitars.

The latest raid has all but shut down the Gibson factory which up to recent times has taken on over 500 extra staff.

Gibson are the last great American guitar makers and in fact are the only 100% American guitars left.

The video is a recorded interview with Henry Juszkiewicz, Gibson CEO the day after the 24th August raid.

The whole issue centres around the way US workers finish ‘work’ on the fingerboard. The parts,  which arrive from Madagascar in a “semi-finished” way are deemed to have been removed from the market illegally. Had the part been completed in Madagascar the issue would not exsist. But why should it happen now?

Henry Juszkiewicz explains the history of the raids and his complete lack of faith in “due process”. Henry Juszkiewicz brought Gibson back from near extinction in the 1980′s and now faces a battle with his Government.

  1. It’s India, not Madagascar. They stopped dealing with them after the 2009 raid.
